3G 4R Offroad Co. didn't start as a website. It started in a shop.
Since 2019, Standard American Outdoors has been building, wrenching on, and wheeling Toyota 4Runners — full engine swaps, ground-up builds, a test course out back, and a video series documenting all of it. That shop lives and breathes the older Toyotas, and it taught us something simple: owners of these trucks are underserved by parts sites that treat them as one listing among ten thousand.
So we split the mission. SAO carries the 2nd gen ('90–'95) torch — including original products engineered in-house. And 3G 4R Offroad Co. exists for exactly one truck: the 3rd generation Toyota 4Runner, 1996–2002. Every part checked against the actual platform. Every listing with exact year fitment. Every question answered by people who work on these trucks, not a call center.
No universal-fit roulette. No "should fit most models." When the catalog says a part fits the '96–'02, that's because it fits the '96–'02 — and where fitment narrows (a ladder that's '96–'01, flares that are '96–'00), the listing says so in plain type. Unsure about your year or your Hilux Surf? Ask before you order — we'd rather answer a question than ship the wrong part.
The same experience behind the catalog goes into our guides — the honest answers to what every 3rd gen owner ends up googling: tire fitment, timing belts, lift geometry, the P0401 code, what to check before buying. Fifty guides deep and growing, whether you ever buy a part or not.
